Workplace Mental Health Training

Support your people. Build trust. Make mental health part of how you work.

Workplace mental health training is about more than awareness — it’s about creating lasting culture change. That means giving your team the skills, confidence, and practical tools to talk about mental health, support one another, and take early action before problems escalate.

Our workplace mental health training is designed for real teams in real workplaces — whether you’re a small business, public sector team, or third sector organisation. We deliver training across Scotland in person and offer live, interactive sessions online UK-wide. Everything is tailored to your needs.

Why Workplace Mental Health Matters

(CIPD, 2023)

1 in 4 people in Scotland experience a mental health problem annually.
(SAMH, 2023)

Workplaces that prioritise wellbeing see lower absence and higher retention.
(ACAS, 2022)

Poor mental health costs UK employers up to £51 billion each year.
(Deloitte, 2024)

An estimated 2 million working days are lost each year in Scotland due to work-related stress, depression, or anxiety. (Workplace health and safety statistics for Scotland, 2023)

Our Workplace Mental Health Training Courses

The courses listed below are just some examples of what we offer. We can also develop new training tailored to your organisation’s specific needs around workplace mental health — whether that’s a one-off session, a full-day programme, or an ongoing learning journey.

Wellness Action Plans for Managers

Wellness Action Plans (WAPs) are simple, proactive tools that help people reflect on what supports their mental health at work.

While WAPs are useful for everyone, this session is tailored for managers who want to use them confidently and effectively with their team. This course gives managers the structure, language, and tools they need to support staff wellbeing before issues become crises.

Creating Trauma-Sensitive Workplaces

This session explores how trauma and chronic stress can affect communication, behaviour, and wellbeing at work.

You’ll learn how to spot signs of trauma responses, respond with empathy, and apply trauma-informed principles across your team culture — creating a workplace where people feel safe, seen, and respected.

Confidently Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace

Designed for managers and team leads, this course focuses on how to support staff dealing with mental health issues.

You’ll gain the skills to recognise when someone is finding things difficult, start meaningful conversations, and provide appropriate support — all while maintaining professional boundaries and understanding your role in making adjustments.

Staying Well at Work: Everyday Tools for Mental Wellbeing

This session is for all staff and focuses on simple strategies to protect and improve wellbeing at work. We’ll explore stress, boundaries, rest, connection, and support-seeking — helping people reflect on their own habits and build healthier working routines.

It’s ideal for building shared understanding and creating a workplace where wellbeing is part of everyday life.

Not at all. Wellness Action Plans (WAPs) are useful for everyone.

They’re simple, personal documents that help employees think about what keeps them well at work and how their manager can support them.

They're not clinical, and they’re not just for when things go wrong — they’re about proactive communication and mutual understanding.
